Minimum non-productive time – maximum production

Extremely short chip-to-chip time: The short travel distances guarantee an extremely short positioning time. Together with workpiece loading and unloading parallel to machining time and the fast tool change, this means unique peak values for a machine with the flexibility of a machining center and the high output of a special machine.

Clamping device

The clamping device can be retooled particularly quickly for new or different workpiece types. This is made possible by a combination of semi-automatic clamping plate change and the exchange of tools and the NC program.

Spindle heads

Two rows of spindles with alternating main spindles, one above the other, enable tool changes parallel to machining time.

Robots

The pioneering control concept of the AX 400 integrates all robot functions into the machine control system.The machine and robot work completely synchronously. During the machining process, the robot automatically follows the movements of the clamping device in the Y and Z axes. Loading and unloading therefore takes place parallel to machining time.

Tool magazine

The tool magazine of the AX 400 consists of a drum magazine with a total of 16 x 4 tool positions. The capacity is designed to provide several tool sets for workpiece machining, depending on the process.
